Cuts That Cost
by Dr Sasha Holden
Cuts that Cost is a recent report written by Dr Sasha Holden, Associate Professor at the Institute of Law. The report was commissioned by the Families Together Programme at the British Red Cross. In the report, Dr Holden examines the human cost of cuts to legal aid for refugee family reunion, alongside the human rights implications of removing legal aid. The report calls for refugee family reunion to be brought back into scope for legal aid. It also recommends that child refugees are given the right to sponsor refugee family reunion applications so that they can be reunited with their parents and loved ones.
A recent article published in the Law Society Gazette focused on Dr Holden’s report. The article can be found here.
